Maintenance schedule
-
Air filter change - once annually
Change air filters once per year, or more often if needed. You can check the air filter condition and vacuum it if lots of dust accumulates on the filter.
-
A light indicator starts flashing on the screen when it is time to change the filter. When that happens, reset the filter by pressing long on the Reset icon on the screen.
-
Water filter change - twice annually
Change water filter per every six months. If you also use AERAQUA to filter tap water, change water filter per 3000 liters or 790 gallons.
-
A light indicator starts flashing on the screen when it is time to change the filters. The indicator flashes when enough water has passed, or after six months, whichever comes first.
-
General maintenance - once annually
Run purification through in the system to cleanse tubes and internal water storage from any contaminants and residues.
All you need to maintain your AERAQUA are delivered to you in the maintenance package.
Air and Water Treatment: Deep Dive

AIR FILTER
Spun-lace Fabric
Material: A lightweight, non-woven fabric. Non-woven fabric is a type of material made without traditional weaving or knitting. Instead, fibers are bonded together using methods like heat. This process creates a flexible, durable fabric that can filter particles effectively while remaining lightweight.
Purpose: Acts as the first defense, capturing larger particles before they reach other filters.
How It Works: Traps dust, lint, and other larger particles, protecting other filters from clogging.
What It Captures: Large dust particles and lint.
Effect: Ensures the longevity and effectiveness of other filters, maintaining efficient purification.

AIR FILTER
HEPA
Material: Dense, high-efficiency particulate air fabric.
Purpose: Prevents dust and airborne particles from entering the water system.
How It Works: Captures particles in the air as small as 0.3 microns before they can reach the water processing stage.
What It Captures: Dust, pollen, and other air pollutants.
Effect: Guarantees that only clean air enters the system, resulting in purer water.

AIR FILTER
Granular Activated Carbon
Material: Loose granules of activated carbon.
Purpose: Removes any odors and airborne chemicals that could impact water quality.
How It Works: The granules trap volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and odors, leaving the air clean and fresh.
What It Captures: VOCs, odors, and some harmful gases.
Effect: Keeps the air free of any chemicals that might affect the purity of the water.

WATER FILTER
PAC Composite Filter
Material: Made from powdered activated carbon combined with other purifying materials.
Purpose: This filter removes chemicals and large impurities right from the start.
How It Works: The carbon has countless tiny pores that trap contaminants, including chlorine and volatile organic compounds (VOCs), that can make water taste and smell unpleasant.
What It Captures: Chlorine, chemicals, and unpleasant odors.
Effect: Improves water taste.

Water Filter
Ultra Filtration
Material: A membrane with microscopic pores, smaller than most bacteria.
Purpose: Ensures no bacteria or harmful particles remain in the water.
How It Works: As water passes through this filter, the tiny pores block any bacteria and particles larger than 0.01 microns, ensuring only clean water gets through.
What It Captures: Bacteria, viruses, and tiny particles.
Effect: Provides safe drinking water, free from bacteria and other invisible impurities.

Water Filter
CB Compressed Activated Carbon
Material: Highly compressed activated carbon.
Purpose: Enhances water purification by removing smaller chemical residues that may affect safety and taste.
How It Works: The compressed form allows even more impurities to be absorbed, including residual pesticides and some heavy metals.
What It Captures: Smaller impurities, pesticides, and some heavy metals.
Effect: Further refines water purity, ensuring both safety and improved taste.

DISINFECTION
UV Light
Material: UV lamps produce short-wavelength light, typically around 254 nanometers, which is highly effective at disinfecting water.
Purpose: UV light sterilizes the water by killing bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that could pose health risks.
How It Works: When water flows past the UV light, the ultraviolet rays penetrate the cells of microorganisms, disrupting their DNA. This prevents them from reproducing, effectively neutralizing any harmful bacteria or viruses.
What It Eliminates: Bacteria, viruses, and pathogens like E. coli, Giardia, and Cryptosporidium.
Effect: Provides an added layer of safety by eliminating harmful organisms without chemicals, keeping the water fresh, clean, and free from biological contaminants.
How to change the filters

ONCE PER YEAR
Air filter
Open the air filter hatch on the right side of the machine by gently pressing down on the two openings, and pull out the removable hatch.
Take the air filter out.
We recommend to change the filter once per year. If dust accumulates on the blue surface, you can every few months de-dust it by hand or vacuuming. Do not wash the air filter with any liquids.
Place the new filter with blue side facing outwards.
Reset the air filter timer by pressing long on the Reset Air Filter icon on the touch screen.

TWICE PER YEAR
Water Filters
Open the hatch on the left side of the machine by gently pressing down on the two openings, and pull out the removable hatch.
The water filters are screwed in. Grab one filter with your hand, screw it to the left about 90º until you feel it detach. Repeat for each filter.
Re-attach the new filters text facing to the left and screwing in to the right until the markers are aligned on top of the filter. Place filters in the order shown at the back of the filter container.
Press long on the Reset Water Filter icon. Add water into the back tank and flow through until the filters are cleansed and the water runs clear.

Once per year
Internal cleansing
Remove water filters and use the lids to close the filter valves. Then, empty the system of all water.
Add water and the Cleansing Formula into the back tank and close it. The pump automatically moves water into the internal tank. Once you see the bar meter on the screen showing full bars, indicating the internal tank is full, allow 10 minutes to pass and then dispense the water out. Keep flowing water out until the back tank is empty.
Finally, re-attach water filters and add pure water into the back tank. Reset water filter timer if you are adding new filters. Flow all water out to rinse the system.
